QUEENSBURY, New York (May 2, 2022) — There are days to celebrate rescue dogs, chocolate cake, grandparents, talking like a pirate and just about anything else imaginable. On May 5, though, ���Ĵ�ý hosts a day that benefits the entire community: A Day 4 ADK.

This annual event leverages the power of community to ensure the college’s funding partner, the ���Ĵ�ý Foundation, can provide $1 million to the college and its students in 2022. 

The ���Ĵ�ý Fund provides scholarships to students, supports teaching and learning initiatives at the college, and helps fund SUNY ADK Cares, which provides emergency resources for students to address unforeseen financial setbacks that threaten success and completion. 

“For more than 60 years, ���Ĵ�ý has been the path to success for our community,” said Rachael Hunsinger Patten, ���Ĵ�ý’s chief advancement officer and executive director of ���Ĵ�ý Foundation. “And for nearly 40 years our community has invested through the ���Ĵ�ý Foundation to assist the college’s efforts.”

Last year’s A Day 4 ADK raised more than $40,000, an amount the college hopes to surpass this year. 

“���Ĵ�ý will offer more than $500,000 in scholarships in an academic year, allowing more than 60 percent of ���Ĵ�ý graduates to earn an associate degree without taking on overwhelming debt,” said Danielle Brown, director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at the college. “We are grateful for the collective generosity that makes this possible.”
