We are proud to educate the next generation of health care leaders in our prestigious Nursing program.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½'s Nursing program is the only course of study at the college that requires a separate application process. If you want to become a Registered Nurse (RN), this page explains how to apply to the Nursing A.A.S. program at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½.

After being accepted to the college, those who meet certain qualifications can apply to the program.

To qualify, one must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older before the first day of classes.
  • Have a GPA of 2.8 or better.
  • Be eligible to enter college-level math and English, as determined by placement tests or earned credits.
  • Be eligible to enter Anatomy and Physiology I.
  • Achieve a grade of C+ (77) in all nursing courses and in BIO 107, BIO 108 and BIO 223.
  • Meet college- and hospital-specific requirements — including but not limited to annual physical examination, proof of vaccination requirements, TB testing, Health Care Provider CPR, malpractice insurance, completion of felony conviction information, proof of medical insurance and completion of a criminal background check.

Applications are accepted between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1 for fall consideration and between Aug. 1 and Sept. 1 for spring consideration.

Questions about applying to the nursing program at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½

You’ll apply in two steps. First, apply to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ and be accepted as a student. Then, once you meet the Nursing admission requirements, submit a separate Nursing application during the open application window.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be accepted to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Be eligible for college-level English and math
  • Be eligible to take Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Meet all health and safety requirements (including immunizations, background check, and CPR certification)

Meeting these requirements makes you eligible to apply, but admission is competitive and not guaranteed.

Applications are accepted during two windows each year:

  • January 1 – February 1 (for fall admission)
  • August 1 – September 1 (for spring admission)

Late applications are not accepted, so plan ahead.

Yes. The Nursing program has limited seats, so not all qualified applicants are admitted. Completing prerequisite courses early and earning strong grades will improve your chances.

Yes. If you’ve taken college courses elsewhere, you can apply as long as you meet the admission requirements. An advisor can help review your transcripts and determine how your credits transfer.
